Now my first panel is complete while I'm excited to begin the second. I plan on carrying some purple maybe a bit of red into the next one for a good transition. I plan to introduce another color and different tones of it, but I know not to do anything too harsh with bolder colors because it might be too much.
Over the past few weeks I have been having a hard time with my idea. I wanted to do a mural based off nature and painting the roots of what happens underneath the ground instead of what we normally see above. I did a small painting to demonstrate this and I was completely dissatisfied. So I changed my idea to show both the roots of something and also flowers and dandelions which is something I have always wanted to paint. But the more I thought about that it was getting farther away from how I normally work. There is this painting that I did about two years ago and I was very excited by the turnout of the piece; I used a pallet knife and acrylics to complete the painting and it didn't take long but there was something about working that way I really enjoyed. After showing Ruane what I did she encouraged me to work in that format since I was comfortable and also enjoying my work. Finally I came to the conclusion to work completely abstract using the colors I'm interested in and not feeling shy or like its not enough to totally let go and just work. I'm now finally happy with my work ethic.
