To whom ever it may concern:

I would like to create a mural that will be placed on top of the cement slab above the glass window case in the atrium of the gallery space in Holman Hall. I would like to use masonite panels that can be put on top of the cement rather than directly painting on top of it, making these panels easy to take down if they are no longer desired. I plan to use three panels each 4ft by 8ft rather than the full length of the slab which is 33 ½ ft. I feel this location is important to my work because I want to design something that the community can enjoy rather than just art students. This area is accessible to all students and not just the art environment on the second, third, and forth floors of the building.

I would like to create a nature like scene that applies to the area outside of the atrium that can be reflected into my own work. I would like to take a bit of what is happening outside and bring it indoors using my own interpretations in colors, textures, and scale. Most of my work is done in the moment without using sketches making the painting itself a finished product as well as place where my ideas began. I plan on purchasing the panels this weekend and starting the painting process over spring break which I feel gives me enough time till its due on May 7th . I am very excited to begin this piece and I hope everything goes as planned.

Sincerely,

Kim Pugner
